Annandale Residence 4 was a project that challenged us in more ways than one. The new owners engaged us for floor plan review with a set of approved plans included in their property purchase. We noted a few areas of concern; with a major oversight to the roof design with no drainage allowances - a problem that often goes unnoticed by inexperienced designer.
We were then tasked with not only rectifying roof drainage issues but remodel the interior spaces while bring more natural light into the living spaces. Located in the inner city where building situated boundary to boundary are frequent, the biggest challenge was to execute such changes without major adjustment to the already approved footprint. If changes are significant, it would trigger a new council development application vs. an amendment to the existing approved plans.
We came up with a design that not only addressed the drainage problem but also enhanced the overall mood and appeal of the terrace-style building.
Every decision we made, ensures the final design will exceed the owner's expectations!
