Tham Architects is a boutique Melbourne and Sydney practice creating thoughtful, human-centered architecture. Led by Ophelia Tham since its inception in 2012, we design projects that respond to client needs while balancing function, context, and timeless aesthetic quality.

We deliver architecture across residential, educational and fit out projects—from bespoke heritage homes and renovations to multi residential and mixed use developments. Every project begins with a blank canvas, shaped by the client’s lifestyle, site, and aspirations.
Our collaborative, hands-on process guides clients from concept through completion, managing every detail with care and precision. We focus on creating spaces that are functional, enduring, and enriching for those who use them.

As one of the youngest Architects in Australia to gain registration at 24, Ophelia has worked alongside award-winning professionals on heritage homes and developer-led projects across Sydney and Melbourne, including multi-residential and mixed-use buildings recognised at the World Architecture Festival.

Today, Ophelia runs her own boutique studio while raising three young children (3,5,7yo), bringing a deeply personal understanding of what makes a home both functional and beautiful. Renovating her own heritage home has grounded her approach to creating practical, livable spaces.

She is passionate about balancing form, function, and affordability. As a highly detail-oriented designer, her meticulous design process simplifies complex challenges, from site constraints to budget limitations, delivering elegant and practical solutions.

Beyond architecture, Ophelia co-runs Living Etch, an online ecommerce with her 7yo daughter specialising in personalised décor, gifts, and meaningful keepsakes, adding a unique touch to home design.
