Situated on a compact 150sqm lot, this project carried a unique set of challenges: a designated flood path, proximity to main sewer and stormwater infrastructure, a steep rock-filled site, a south-facing yard, an overhead flight path, and its location within a heritage conservation area.
Respecting the existing façade and streetscape, the design sought to maximise light and liveability within the narrow 6m frontage. The final outcome ensured that every room includes a properly sized, well-positioned window—achieving privacy without reliance on frosting or high-level openings. Hallways are bright and welcoming, while clever use of nooks and crannies created dual-purpose spaces. Corridors double as access to storage cupboards or activity niches, ensuring no space is wasted.
The home’s interiors are modern, functional, and well-suited to entertaining. An open-plan living arrangement connects the kitchen with its central island bench, seamlessly to the dining and lounge areas before extending outdoors via floor-to-ceiling sliding doors and frameless corner windows. Ample storage throughout ensures long-term practicality, while the sense of light and flow creates a comfortable and contemporary family home
