Cottage Alterations and Extensions.

Imagine a house with no dining space, a courtyard disconnected from your house and waking up during the night is a "mission impossible" to the bathroom - stumbling down a dangerous spiral staircase...

The client approached us to turn a 2 bedroom terrace house on a 100 sqm lot into something more spacious and liveable for himself. The initial aim was to add another bedroom upstairs and maximise downstair space. After a few iterations, we came up with a design to include a dinning area, a new ensuite, bathroom and w/c. One of the main design intent was to open the living space using natural light and connect living spaces to a courtyard to increase entertainment space. The interiors are Japanese inspired - simple and light with a hint of timber.

End result - A spacious 4 bedroom family home on a 100 sqm block!
